Dorsoduro, near Campo Santa Margherita, in the church of San Pantalon hovers what at first glance might appear to be an immense painting with a majestic composition. 

Instead, these are 40 heterogeneous canvases that produce 443 square meters of painting that wisely created thanks to the perspective, depict three scenes: the death sentence, San Pantalone in glory and the Triumph of the Eucharist.

The author of this sumptuous work was Giovanni Antonio Fumiani (1640-1710), a Venetian painter: it is said that it took 24 years to complete his grandiose work and his death, the legend says, occurred due to a fall from a scaffold during a  retouching the painting.
